Stockton Locks

Canal boat holidays on the Grand Union Canal

The Stockton flight of 10 locks is on the Grand Union Canal near the historic village of Stockton in Warwickshire.

From the locks, there are stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Stockton Top Marina and The Boat Inn are at the top of the flight and the Blue Lias pub is at the bottom.

The Grand Union Canal links London and Birmingham and was completed in the early 19th century.  Stockton Locks are between Napton Junction and the village of Long Itchington.

The Millennium Way walking route passes through the village of Stockton and crosses the canal at Stockton Bridge no.23. The village has a long history, with evidence of human habitation dating back to ancient times. Its name is of Old English origin, possibly meaning “farmstead or village by the tree trunk,” indicating its agricultural roots. The village of Stockton is home to the family-run Crown Inn.

Stockton Locks are on the Warwickshire Ring.  You can complete the Warwickshire Ring on a 10-day or two-week break from Wootton Wawen.
