Book your tickets for boat trips across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct

Our 45-minute boat trips aboard Little Star (‘Seren Fach’) take you across the World Heritage Pontcysyllte Aqueduct 38 metres above the River Dee.

This ‘bucket list’ experience offers an exciting and unforgettable cruise of a lifetime along the Llangollen Canal, offering stunning views across the Dee Valley.

Our knowledgeable team provide on-board commentary, so you can learn more about the history of the site as you cruise gently along. Refreshments are available to purchase on board.

Adult tickets are £10, children under 16 are £6, family tickets are £25 (2 adults, 2 children). You can book in advance or purchase a ticket on the day, subject to availability.

Operating times

From 29 March to 31 October 2025, Little Star (Seren Fach) will operate five trips a day. Trips depart at 11am, 12 noon, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

In December trips will run daily at 11am, 12 noon, 1.30pm and 2.30pm, except on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Little Star boat trips depart from Trevor Basin, Off Station Road, Trevor, Wrexham, LL20 7TT. Close the Canal & River Trust’s Pontcysyllte Aqueduct Visitor Centre at Trevor Basin.

Group Travel & Bespoke Trips

Little Star has seating for up to 48 passengers and we offer 10% discounts on group bookings for 10 or more.

We also offer bespoke trips for groups of 20 or more. For example, we can host a two-hour return journey along the Llangollen Canal to Bryn Howel and back.  This longer cruise gives visitors the chance to experience more of the 11-mile UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as cruising across the Poncysyllte Aquedcut.

How to find us

Little Star boat trips depart from Trevor Basin, Off Station Road, Trevor, Wrexham, LL20 7TT.

Trevor is situated 3 miles west of Ruabon on the Llangollen road. From the A5, take the A483 to Ruabon and then the A539 towards Llangollen. You’ll come down a long hill in Acrefair.

At the bottom, before you start to climb into Trevor, you will see a brown sign ‘Canal Boat Trips’. Turn left here, then right into the public ‘pay and display’ car park on your right hand side.

Our daily boat trips are 45 minutes long, but we do offer longer bespoke trips for groups.

Where can I park?

The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct public ‘pay and display’ car park is nearby at Acrefair, Wrexham LL14 3SG. Put this postcode into your SatNav or Google Maps, rather than Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.

Does Little Star offer access for people with disabilities?

No, we’re sorry, due to the historic design of the boat, we are unable to offer disabled access.

Can I bring my dog?

Service dogs only are permitted.
