We offer day boat hire from six locations
You don’t need a licence to drive a canal boat and tuition is included in our day boat hire.
We offer day boat hire from six of our bases, from just £99 per day for up to 10 people (including infants & pets).
Hire times are from 9am until 4pm during the season.
Full tuition is included. So, if you want to see what a canal boat holiday is like, our day boats offer a great way to dip your toe in the water.
Everything you need for a great day out
All our day boats are equipped with the facilities you need for a great day out, including cutlery, crockery, a kettle, 2 burner hob, fridge, sink and toilet. So you can plan a picnic afloat or stop off at a canalside pub for lunch.
There’s indoor and outdoor seating on all our day boats, so whatever the weather, you can enjoy the ever changing view.

Our day boat hire locations
Our day boat hire destinations include the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in North Wales, the beautiful Bath Valley, the Stratford Canal in Shakespeare country and the historic market towns of Nantwich in Cheshire, Whitchurch in Shropshire and Rugeley in Staffordshire.
Bradford on Avon
We have four day boats at our Bradford on Avon base on the Kennet & Avon Canal in Wiltshire. Prices start at £185 per day for a boat for up to 10 people.
Bunbury
Our day boat Bella operates from Bunbury on the Shropshire Union Canal in Cheshire, near Tarporley. Prices start at £99 per day for a boat for up to 10 people.
Great Haywood
Our day boats Daphne and Abi operate from Great Haywood on the Trent & Mersey Canal near Stafford. Prices start at £99 per day for a boat for up to 10 people.
Trevor
Our day boats Jacob, Daniel and Lotty operatre from Trevor on the Llangollen Canal in North Wales. Prices start at £120 per day for a boat for up to 10 people.
Whixall
Our day boat Julia operates from Whixall Marina on the Prees Branch of the Langollen Canal in Shropshire. Prices start at £99 per day for a boat for up to 10 people.
Wootton Wawen
Our day boats Dolly, Charlie and Emma are available at Wootton Wawen on the Stratford Canal in Warwickshire. Prices start at £99 per day for a boat for up to 10 people.
Alcohol – a sad but necessary warning
Whilst we want everyone to enjoy their day boat cruise, our primary concern is for your health and safety, and that of others on the waterway.
Our base staff will not allow excessive amounts of alcohol to be taken aboard the boats, and will decline to hand over any boat where they feel this may be an issue. This would result in you forfeiting your booking payment.
If your boat crew is reported causing disruption on the waterway, the crew will be escorted from the boat and all payments and security deposits will be forfeited. The crew will also be reported to waterway authorities, which could result in prosecution.
